My name is Nicole Jones Sturk. I am a multi-skilled freelancer who excels at fast, high-quality work with a creative flair!

I worked for over ten years as a book compositor at Jouve North America (formerly NK Graphics) doing page layout for both trade and text books. In that time, I had the opportunity to work on projects from a variety of publishing clients, such as Scholastic, Penguin, and Bedford/St. Martin's. My duties included composing pages to customer's specifications, cleaning and styling text manuscripts, implementing edits to pages, making adjustments to photos and illustrations, and preparing digital files for the printer. I especially LOVE to work on children's and YA books.

At my heart, though, I am an ARTIST. I love to create. I come with a strong background in art and design. I graduated with honors from BYU-Idaho in 2005 with a BA in art. I continually pursue various personal creative projects, including a craft blog (Niki Jin Crafts). In my illustrations, I specialize in surface patterns, seasonal and holiday themed art, and intricate designs. My work is especially suitable for pattern design, greeting cards, home decor, children's illustration, and adult coloring pages. I use a combination of traditional, hand-drawn and digital methods to create my pieces.

My main software experience is with Adobe programs on a Mac platform, especially Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
